Buster’s first left-hand turn. View looks east down Ducommun from Alameda, showing the full length of the Strasbourg Hotel to the left, see prior Ducommun scenes 02:03 – 05:53.
More details. Because the far side of 415 is rotated away from the sidewalk, we see only the left profile (orange) of the building, the single entrance lamp (yellow) projecting from the front wall. The green part of the fence stands beyond 415 (see inset from The Goat) where a tree once stood. Buster also catches his coat on the railroad crossing pole to the left during The Goat.
The triangle building on Labory Lane to the right appears in many early films. Charlie Chaplin filmed scenes from The Kid here, as did D.W. Griffith for Intolerance, and Monty Banks for Derby Day. The back of the extant Marsh Strong Building at 9th and Main, with signage for the Continental National Bank (orange highlight), appears to the upper left, the lost buildings on the corner of Los Angeles and 10th, now Olympic, appears behind (yellow highlight). Two blocks east stands 908 S Broadway where Harold Lloyd filmed the clock scenes for Safety Last! (green inset). The yellow inset marks the next scene below. All scenes filmed on the block of E 10th, now Olympic, between Santee and Los Angeles Street, visible in many vintage aerial photos. Scenes show both the north and south sides of the block. 07:10 Traveling shot heading west along 10th Street, now Olympic, toward Los Angeles St, as Buster decides to nap driving past the side of the lost Butler Apartments, and then past a billboard for such apartments. The Butler stood on the NW corner of Olympic at 959-61 Santee. 07:21 Buster continues along 10th Street from the Butler Apartment sign and past the side of the former E. A. Featherstone Auto Supplies Store on the corner at 958-960 S. Los Angeles St. See 08:12 below. Downtown south https://silentlocations.com/2020/12/06/busters-brazen-bystanders/

As Buster naps, Onyx stops beside 210 E 10th Street (now Olympic) an auto repair blacksmith shop between Los Angeles St and Santee, across the street from the Featherstone store and the side of the Butler Apartments.
Buster sets up a telephone telling Onyx to keep moving. This view shows the side of Featherstone to the right, and the roof of the blacksmith shop. Notice the BLACKSMITH sign (orange highlight) on the corner of the building, and the matching brick roof details (green highlights). If you look closely during the scene you can occasionally see little brick posts on the roof, matching the yellow highlight.
